good neighbors

Another excellent fast computers show last night. Tom Heinl opened the night with an amazing set ... one of the best i've ever seen. totally on fire.

Woke up at 7 today and brewed the stumptown coffee strong. Greeted neighbor Rex with a warm AM smile and we proceeded to mend the walls between us. Literally.
My friggin' cedar fence has been slowly laying it waterlogged self down over the last couple years. We tore down a few sections and dug new post holes. Smashing cement is fun. I'd hardly call it a new fence because cobbled from whatever scraps weren't completely toast. The cats are pissed (no pun intended) because they don't have an easy portal to take a squirt in said neighbors yard anymore.

Finished up a show promo ad for the flaming lips. Have a long day of staring at the computer ahead of me. Lately I seem to have a hard time saying no. To anything. I have a ton of music and design projects on the radar and I really need to prioritize my shit before I feel like I'm getting mown over by a train again. Couple that with this summer weather and the constant desire to be grilling dead things with a cocktail in your had and it's a recipe for extended anti-productivity and everything piles up behind you. I'll work on that "no" thing.

I-5 boogie

Played Portland last night with the fast computers. Their CD release at Beerbati's Pan. Did a ripping rendition of Mr. Blue sky. Unfortunately my vocoder was being a little snot so I had to placate the hipsters with a Drum and Bass portamento setting. super fun. Before the club I hit my friend Tammy's house. She was having a party and her band the Pathogens played. Totally kick ass powah trio with a king size sac and nasty amps. Had a beer in the basement with Rob Jones. Nice party.

On the 3am drive home, Fox hooked me up with a sparks for the road to stay awake. I hit up the brooks truck stop and snatched a bag of andy cap hot fries and a couple corn dogs (2.99 for 2!). The teller charged me 99 cents and said there was no way in hell she could ethically charge me for the dogs. As soon as I bit into their caiman like leather exteriors, i had to laugh. My bicuspids did not.

Today i am watering the yard and hitting up a neighbor's Midsummer party (go sweeds) before the eugene version of fast computers. I hope the Korg puts out tonight.

I have thought long and hard about the pro's and con's of starting a blog.
pro: why the hell not
con: who the fuck really really cares
con: I already waste too much time at wikipedia
con: my thoughts are generally chaotic and splattered in non edit mod. This can produce unwanted psychedelic results that most people would find annoying.
pro: at least it would get me writing again.
con: seriously ... who gives a squirt.
con: ______________
pro: if you're reading this, which well, YOU ARE, it means we're sort of chatting. I work my ass off and rarely get to talk with people I care about and would much rather be sipping manhattans on my back deck with, so ... lets pretend we're chatting.
